On Christian's birthday we spent the day together as a family. I didn't want to sit around the house and just stare at each other. We wanted to do some fun things with Chase to keep the day as upbeat as possible. Wes took the day off and we went to the children's museum. We also planted some flowers in the backyard near the butterfly garden. We had a balloon release (as did our parents) and I baked my first-ever cheesecake for Christian's birthday cake.
It was a very busy day, and definitely bittersweet.
We also sent these seeded butterfly cards to close friends and family. We would LOVE to see photos of the flowers in bloom or of you planting them.
I bet we saw 100 butterflies on Christian's birthday. They were everywhere! We saw the first one as we were eating breakfast that morning. It came and landed right on the center sunroom window. As we drove around that day, they were everywhere I looked.
