What I Love Wednesdays {A Makeover and Tutorial!}

Today I am sharing my laundry room makeover. This was a project I did in October/November but I'm just now getting around to taking/posting photos of it! My inspiration came from the color combo of yellow and gray. These fresh colors have been everywhere this past year and I wanted them in the laundry room. I'm in there a lot, so I wanted to enjoy the space as much as possible! :)

The makeover was done on a budget, and I'm happy to say I stuck with it and came in under what I had hoped.

I painted the room using Benjamin Moore's sidewalk gray. It came out a touch bluer than I had hoped, but after 2 coats on a 9-foot ceiling (done over 3 day's worth of naps), I got over it pretty quickly. :) I made the covered corkboard (tutorial below!), the painted "B" above the coat rack and the embroidery hoop wall hangings. I am STILL on the hunt for a rug for this space.

Here's the scoop on the rest of the stuff!

Covered Cork Message Board

1. I sprayed my corkboard with spray adhesive and wrapped a trimmed-to-size piece of fabric around it. Starting in the middle, I pressed down the fabric so it was smooth. (My corkboard is from Hobby Lobby). I then used a nail gun to attach it.
2. I found some brushed nickel upholstery nails at a local Mom and Pop shop and using a hammer, nailed them in around the border of the board. They do sell these in strips (where you only have to nail in the 5th one) and that would have been less time-consuming, but I couldn't find them locally and they were more expensive than the individual nails.
3. I'm using my board to attach photos, important receipts and notes!
