September Catch Up

I'm the world's worst blogger these days!
Just wanted to post a few photos to catch us up to October...

Chase is loving soccer and has two more games to go!

Wes and I had a date night! Woohoo for date nights. :)

 These two are BUDS.

Chase's class had their 2nd field trip, this time to Tuttle's Orchard to finish up a fun apple unit!
 Can you spot Chase?!?!?

Soccer

Chase started a fall soccer league a few weeks back through Grace and Cleats. I love this ministry and how they care about Chase not only as an athlete but as a person and as a Christian. They have a practice, then a devotional, then they play a game. His team is the cyclones - look out! :)

Pop and Grandma were in town for his very first practice!

Soccer Take 2 {and 3 and 4}

We had our last soccer clinic this week. Things have been going smoothly compared to our first time...you don't run into any samarai sword-fighting men when you park around back! The second week, Chase didn't want to go and cried the whole way there, but was fine once he got to the field, and it's been uphill from there!
Chase's favorite part was when he got to "hustle" down to the fence and back. All smiles!
And then he got to watch his Daddy do it!

During his last lesson, Chase got to practice being a goalie, he did great!
At the end of the clinic, he was given a soccer medal.
This has been a very big deal in our house this week!

He was so proud, and couldn't stop looking down at it all night.
He even wore it the next day to Touch a Truck.
Way to work hard Chase!
You are our soccer star! :)

Soccer

Chase had his first soccer "clinic" last week at the YMCA. He had a hard time waking up from his nap that day and was in a bit of a mood so he had a few "moments" where he didn't want to participate. Did I mention it was in the 90's? Yes, all signs on the road to soccer pointed to Meltdown City, USA. At one point, he ran down the hill for a "drill" and was told by the coach "no hands, remember?" in the nicest way possible and he started crying and asking why did she yell? Bless his heart, it was so pitiful. I think he heard the word "no" and that was it for him. He came around and eventually had a good time.

On our way home we had to walk back through a gym where a group of people in robes stood yelling VERY loudly and holding swords. Japanese samurai swordsmanship anyone? Yeah, I tried to play it up like it was just the funniest thing and said "oh, look, that's fun, they have on funny robes and feel like yelling!" I saw a very concerned face and then he said "yeah, and that's maybe a little bit scary." And then he started crying. He stopped once we were out of the gym but apparently they practice there every week so we decided to park in the back for next time! Yikes!

Here are some more pictures of our little soccer player!
That tongue is always out!
