Pumpkin Carving

Chase's Woody Pumpkin

 **********************************************

For this year's pumpkin carving, I tried to incorporate a little Bible lesson I had seen on a blog last year. I love using the ordinary things to teach him about God's love for him! It goes like this:
As you open the top of the pumpkin you can talk to your little one about how God created each of us in a special way and knows our insides and outsides.
"I will fear you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made"
Psalm 139:14

As you clean out the "yucky" stuff as Chase called it, you can explain how God takes away all of our sins and makes us new again.

The pumpkin's new smiling face!

"Therefore if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old is gone, the new is here!"
2 Cor. 5:17

Chase loved looking at the candle inside. "ooooh!, dat's reallll-yyyy cool!" he'd say.

We explained that Christ comes into our lives as a light to guide us. This light shines through us so others can see Jesus in us too.

"For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God's glory displayed in the face of Christ."
2 Cor. 4:6
