Wes, Chase and I recently traveled to Chicago for the long weekend. It was a much needed get away - we really need things to look forward to right now and the change of scenery was just what we needed. We were able to spend lots of quality time with Aunt Krystle and Uncle Rob. Wes and I even got to spend a night downtown - just the two of us!
(Beware: picture overload!)
Day 1: Shedd Aquarium. It must be noted that Chase woke up at 4:30 am Chicago time/5:30 am our time...so when we arrived at the aquarium it was already naptime. :) There was lots to see so we avoided any major meltdowns!
LOVED this submarine.
We are pretending to be penguins!
The special exhibit when we went was "Jellies!"
View from lunch at the aquarium
Chase's favorite: the sting rays! Hard to get a good shot when there's low lighting/no flash allowed...but he was loving how they were swimming under his feet!

Wes and I stayed at the Millennium Knickerbocker downtown, right off the Mag. Mile - After a quick nap (remember we had a 5:30 am wakeup!) while Chase napped, we headed downtown.
Leaving our hotel to do a little shopping before dinner
Drinks at Hugo's Frog Bar and Fish House
Dinner here, with a great view!

Day 2
Day 2 began with breakfast al fresco at Lux Bar followed by a trip to the Lincoln Park Zoo where we met up with Krystle, Rob and Chase!
Chase at the petting zoo checking out a not-so-thrilled goat.
Inside the "cat house"
Chase and his Aunt Krystle and Uncle Rob
Checking out the cows with Rob
One very relaxed bear.
Bubble man in the park across from the zoo, where we also had our picnic lunch.
Chase loved running around and hugging all the trees, he was sure to not leave any out.

Day 3 we headed home, but not before a trip to a park and lunch at Potbelly's!
Thanks so much to Aunt Krystle and Uncle Rob for having us, and for watching little man while we went out. We had such a great time with you all! Chase is still talking about "Cago!"
