Easter Weekend has been bittersweet. It's hard for us to be "normal" in such circumstances, but we are certainly trying, for each other and most of all for Chase. We took Chase out to lunch and to a fun Easter egg hunt at the park on Saturday. He met the Easter bunny and played on the playground.
Chase was HILARIOUS when meeting the Easter bunny. We thought he would be scared so as we waited in the short line we really played it up, "Look how fun!" "He's nice!" "Do you want to say hello and maybe sit in his lap?!" He was basically like "HECK YES I DO!" ha ha He kept saying 'BUNNY!" and when it was his turn he let me place him in his lap. He was all smiles as if he just couldn't believe his good fortune to actually have this happening to him. We cracked up!
Luckily the weather was great up until the hunt when it started to cloud up and sprinkle a bit. We were able to gather a few eggs before we headed for home. Luckily they had an area for 2 year olds and it wasn't too crowded.
Here are some photos from the day:
Waiting in line for the Easter Bunny. Chase is pointing and saying "Bunny!"
His big Hello!
So excited!
Yay, can you believe this?!
Hey, I found an egg!
Sunday we had a big breakfast at home and Chase found his Easter basket. He played with things in it for a good two hours. Mainly his new bumblebee flashlight and lizard watering can. He is also really into the plastic eggs and how they open and things are inside! We did some Easter crafts and decorated eggs too. We had our good friends Jeff and Sarah over for dinner. It was a nice way to end the weekend!
Chase's Easter basket!
Easter craft time, we decorated crosses.
Coloring eggs with mini rollers...
Chase loves anything with paint!
Our crosses, and yes, those are dinosaurs! :)
Our Easter eggs!
Easter dinner! Guess who ate his weight in ham? Yep, Chase did. :)We hope everyone had a great Easter weekend!
God Bless,
Erin and Wes
