Wes surprised me at Christmas with a fun overnight date for NYE! We headed downtown that afternoon and got a massage where we stayed (Conrad). We relaxed in the room, walked the mall a bit, and headed to Fogo de Chao for dinner. After dinner we walked to Georgia street to listen to the music and people watch. We went to Kilroy's for a drink and then back to Tastings, a wine bar at the Conrad. There was a band playing and we sat and listened to the music and hung out. We watched a little of the festivities on TV but we only made it to 11:30 or so! The next morning we had a great breakfast at Café Patachou and then ran some errands (exciting stuff like returning a coat and checking out new dishes!) before heading home to the boys. Thanks Pop and Grandma for holding down the fort for us so we could take a much needed day to ourselves!

On New Year's Day, Mindy made her yummy traditional meal (black-eyed peas, cabbage, pork tenderloin and mashed potatoes) and Rob and Krystle and the boys joined us. Rob recently got a new job here and they moved nearby! We are SO excited and blessed to have them so close and to see the cousins grow up together. God is so good in so many ways and we look forward to many more get togethers with them!
