Fairy Tale Night

Chase's Kindergarten class had "Fairy Tale Night" this past week.
They have been working hard during this unit writing and illustrating their own fairy tales.
Chase had kept his a secret from us up until the big night, so we were super excited to hear him read it!

They had to dress up as their favorite fairy tale character, so here's our big bad wolf!
Chase and I spent a couple of hours twice that week in the classroom building a castle!
We used boxes, paper towel and toilet paper tubes, and lots of imagination!
Chase had such great ideas for his castle design and I loved the way it turned out.

Some of the writing and other projects he did throughout the unit, including my favorite, a Jack and the Beanstalk diorama. We went on a treasure hunt that night to find all of the things he had done.
Oh, these two. Sophie is his little friend at school. She and Chase are two peas in a pod.

Getting ready to read his story, titled Blue and the Cardinals
Chase reading his story!
They read in groups of five kiddos at a time so they weren't overwhelmed reading to a large group of parents. Chase asked to go first and did great!

Here is the video of Chase reading his Fairy Tale!

His group of readers with his teachers!
Chase with his main teacher, Mrs. Rodenbeck - she is AWESOME!

Then it was time to celebrate!

The kids decorated a "boy" cake and a "girl" cake, and there were magic wand cookies as well.

Love this one of the two wolves!

We are so proud of this guy and all his hard work!
It was one of those nights I just soaked him in and didn't want it to end.
I hope he remembers how awesome he was tonight, I know we will never forget it!
